This is my blog for all things musical, random and general stuff I find interesting. Yep.

"You keep revolving, I keep slowing down. You keep revolving, then we hit the ground. I’m not sad about it"

- Wolf - Bronto Skylift

"…do it then. just fucking do it. I think the thing is, you should never settle or compromise for anyone. you have to be selfish sometimes and when you’re old and frail you’ll be happy about the risks you took and how you made the most of your life. At the end of the day, there is no heaven, no afterlife, the only thing we have is our memories and the stories we can tell to our grandkids, and i for one don’t want to be a boring old bastard with nothing to say."

Despicable like the filth that comes out of a spider’s arse
Harsh as slaughter, we hard like Yorkshire water
Thicker than love mate but what does that matter
Splattered like the patterns of coagulated blood
Or cum or spit of that human nature, let lose on the surface of the face
Embrace it in truth, not just in the times when we rest under the death stars
Underneath these dead stars
We are as we say, we make way for those who never come
Only say they will to our will, who will pray for them?
No one, shall we play for keeps?
Shall we save these days that we have lost
And cash them in when this awful weather stops?
Crop what is not worthy of view
Copy a new style and give it to your sister, I’m sure she’ll love it
Don’t ask me questions you know the answers to
Handsome, how I feel when I am a dancer
Do you remember those moves?
A who’s who of the quarter life blues
Those in their third preparing for the fourth
Their’s is their’s now
Wandering around like a fucking idea factory
Cracked out of my mind on too much time spent with the family
What exactly are you trying to prove here?
So many questions, so little time
So many intervals, so little principles
Crippling me, crippling my generation
Please be silent when I’m telling you about my problems
I thought we were done with that?
Nothing is ever apparent in this humble habitat

Hmmm, interesting...

My top 5 most listened to albums according to Last.FM are…

1. We Are A Unit - Castrovalva

2. You’re A Woman, I’m A Machine - Death From Above 1979

3. Pulled Apart By Horses - Pulled Apart By Horses

4. Travels With Myself And Another - Future Of The Left

5. Songs For The Deaf - Queens Of The Stone Age

“Band I Wish I Knew About Sooner” #2 - Minutemen

I found out about these guys through the brilliant Double Muscle who did a cover of the song “Cut”. I then discovered the documentary “We Jam Econo” and fell in love. Their songs are all really short but straight to the point, Mike Watt’s bass lines are wild the drum patterns are insane and their music is so immediate it makes you want to actually get out of your seat and do something (although I’m not quite sure what yet). And yeah we’ve all been trying to talk to girls but can’t help thinking about world war 3! More important now than ever.

“Band I Wish I Knew About Sooner” #1 - BIG BLACK

Here begins a list of bands which I knew about sooner in my life. Bands wich I’ve only just stumbled across and thought “Wow! How have I not heard this before?” Staring off with Big Black, I first heard this song “Passing Complexion” and suddenly it was like opening a door onto another universe. Mind blowing doesn’t even come close. Also check out the track “Kerosene”.

Hey folks it’s been a long time since i’ve posted anything on here but after a long year of being low on equipment and low on money I’m back making this music again and playing with a new band line-up tomorrow night in Leeds. (22/11/11). I’ve been writing lots of new stuff so you’ll be able to hear some of it next year with hopefully more gigs in the bag and some special things happening (which you’ll have to wait for, sssshh!).

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

New track for you here, The Puzzle. The live version with lyrics will be debuted tomorrow night (22/11/11) at Seven Bar in leeds.

Ay up kids!

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged on here. Been busy with lots of other projects such as Nature Of The Beast. Since last time we played at the Woolgather Art Prize opening in Leeds along with other acts including The Magic Droids (see the review of the whole event written by The Low Culture here) which was really good fun.

The next gig is going to be BIG! It’s happening down at Mr. Bens in Leeds (just down from Urban Outfitters on Albion St.) and Extra Curricular (featuring Jack Flash & Ruby Wood) will be headlining along with sets from DJ Mikey J, Pando & Bandikoot. It’s going on til 5 in the morning so be prepared to party hard!
